RULES TO FOLLOW
Do not use bots as your songs aren’t being listened to by real people
Use organic promotions like ours or similar when you do decide to promote your tracks at Soundcloud
Network while you are receiving comments, likes and follows
Prepare a note with a short message and links to all your other social media accounts. Send this note to your new fans i.e., those who like your music by following you, liking your tracks and commenting.
Your promotions should be purely organic as bot promoted tracks are easy to spot and Soundcloud won’t pay royalties for them
Do not expect your plays to come streaming in when you are doing organic promotions on your track, the plays will come over a period of time.
Join Repost Exchange and similar platforms to gain more exposure
Master your tracks with professionals and make sure your mix stands out
Your song should be above average for you to get a good response. Try not to be the average music producer, artist or DJ
Make new friends and collaborate with other artists
Ask playlist owners to add your tracks on their playlists, but look for active users and not promoters with inactive playlists
If you have not already done so, go to your SoundCloud settings and improve your audio streaming
Join groups on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook and network your tracks
Most of all your artwork design should be captivating and creative.

Learn to tell the difference between an organic promotion, a network promotion, and a bot promotion
Well, this is simpler than you might think. Comments from organic promotions are fuller and often describe the track, sometimes give constructive criticism and are not always positive. In fact, some artists leave longer comments if they like the track or want to advise the artist. Something like ‘’This track is really interesting, I like the bass at the transition’’, describing the track in detail and what they like about it. With network promotions, you will get shorter comments like ‘’Reposted, fire, cool, bomb, wow’’ etc. With these comments you would not know what exactly people think of your music. Because it is all done by one person. They have a number of network accounts that they use to make these comments and you on the other hand might be happy, thinking you are getting real comments. The truth though, some of these network promoters are also organic promoters and utilise network comments to enhance the impressions to the track. As for bot promoters, you will get a lot of plays in a very short time on your track, including lots of short comments as in network promotions but all coming at once or sometimes at a specific time, which is often 00:00. The mess about all this is that these bot commentators communicate in comments with each other making it very obvious for Sound cloud to detect that the track is bot promoted. To avoid a bot promoter, please ask them to supply you with examples of recent promotions they have done and use our notes here to determine who they are.

Another thing to look out for are new followers. With organic promotions you should naturally gain a number of followers. With network and bot promoters you either don’t get any new followers at all or they are all bots. Bot followers are quite easy to spot, they normally have no music on their channel, generic names and pictures and either no followers or are followed by the other bots.
I hope these notes help and that you will soon be networking and building your fan base.
